My name is Leon de la Garza, I’m an aspiring writer from Mexico.
I’ve been a fan of Science Fiction for a while now. I enjoy every type of media that involves it, movies, books, games, anything!
The definition I like most of science fiction is the one given by Rod Serling, “Fantasy is the impossible made probable. Science fiction is the improbable made possible”. It’s a short definition but one that implies a whole many things. Is it probable that we will meet intelligent life from other planets? Maybe not, but it’s possible. Is it probable that we will solve the problem of world hunger? I don’t know enough to give an accurate answer, but it’s possible!
Science fiction gives us hope. Hope for a better tomorrow, hope for humanity to unite and work together to create new exciting things, to make an effort to make people’s lives better. Hope that maybe one day, we will gain enough knowledge to solve the great mysteries of our time. Science fiction shows us progress, motivation to feed our innate curiosity, to explore outer space and other planets, to innovate on ideas previously unexplored.
In the end, science fiction is about people. About our desires for the future and our hopes for our children.
I created this blog as an excercise to improve my writing, I will be posting short stories so I welcome your feedback, and I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for stopping by.
